Rule change: fIREBALL replaced the 1-OFF play style across the PICK daily games
The add-on launched and 1-OFF ended on the same day. Tickets and payout tables from before that date follow different rules. This is a historical rule update, not a current announcement.
Effective
On 18 January 2021 the Florida Lottery introduced the FIREBALL add-on across all of its PICK daily games, and ended the 1-OFF play style on the same day.
The Florida Lottery's Pick 3 fact sheet records both halves of the change in a single entry, which is what makes the date unambiguous: FIREBALL was introduced and 1-OFF ended together.
Why it still matters years later
It means any Pick 3 payout table can be dated by what it contains. A table with 1-OFF rows and no FIREBALL rows describes the game as it was before 18 January 2021 — not a slightly out-of-date version of the current game, but a different set of play types.
1-OFF, introduced on 16 March 2015, paid on tickets whose digits were one away from a drawn digit. It cannot be bought today, and it does not appear anywhere in the current game rules.
How LotteryCorner handles it
Results from 16 March 2015 to 17 January 2021 are checked against the rules that applied then, including 1-OFF. Results from 18 January 2021 onwards are checked against the current rules, including FIREBALL. The rule era in force is stated alongside every comparison.
