How to play Florida Pick 3
Pick 3 uses three digits, one for each position. You can choose the digits yourself or generate a random valid set. Your play type determines whether order matters.
- Straight
- Match all three digits in the exact order drawn. Example 1-2-3.
- Box (3-way)
- Match all three digits in any order. A number with two identical digits has three possible orders, so it is a 3-way box. Example 1-1-2.
- Box (6-way)
- Match all three digits in any order. A number with three different digits has six possible orders, so it is a 6-way box. Example 1-2-3.
- Straight/Box (3-way)
- Splits a $1.00 play into a 50-cent straight play and a 50-cent box play. It pays the higher amount for an exact-order match and the box amount for any other order. Example 1-1-2.
- Straight/Box (6-way)
- Splits a $1.00 play into a 50-cent straight play and a 50-cent box play, for a number with three different digits. Example 1-2-3.
- Combo (3-way)
- Covers every unique order of the selected digits as separate straight plays. A number with two identical digits has three orders, so a 3-way combo is three straight plays. Example 1-2-2.
- Combo (6-way)
- Covers every unique order of the selected digits as separate straight plays. A number with three different digits has six orders, so a 6-way combo is six straight plays. Example 1-2-3.
- Front Pair
- Select two digits and match the first two digits drawn, in exact order. Example 1-2-x.
- Back Pair
- Select two digits and match the last two digits drawn, in exact order. Example x-2-3.
- FIREBALL
- An extra number drawn alongside the three Pick 3 digits. On a ticket that includes FIREBALL, the FIREBALL number may replace any one of the three drawn digits, which produces three additional winning combinations for that drawing. A FIREBALL prize can be won with or without also winning a base prize. Adding FIREBALL doubles the cost of every panel played. It is available with 50-cent and $1.00 plays.

Generate and learn
Generate Pick 3 numbers
Create a valid random three-digit set for Midday or Evening. You can keep the first set or generate another.
Choose how many sets you want, then generate. Nothing is saved until you ask for it.
Every valid combination has the same chance. The generator does not predict a drawing.
Pick 3 play methods explained
Learn how common Pick 3 play methods are structured, what they cost and what they do not change.
Straight versus Box: order and coverage
A Straight play wins on one exact order. A Box play covers every order of the same digits, and pays less because it covers more.
Covering more orders does not change how the drawing is conducted. Each drawing is independent.
What a wheel or combination set actually covers
A Combo buys every unique order of your digits as separate Straight plays, so the ticket costs more in proportion to the orders it covers.
The cost rises with the coverage. A wider set of plays is not a discount on the odds of any single play.
Playing repeated digits
A number with two identical digits has three orders instead of six, which is why it is a 3-way rather than a 6-way play and pays a different amount.
The number of orders is arithmetic about your ticket, not a statement about which digits will be drawn.
Using Front Pair and Back Pair
A pair play asks for two digits in exact order and ignores the third position entirely, at shorter odds and a smaller prize.
A shorter-odds play is a smaller prize, not a stronger position.
Setting a fixed entertainment budget
Deciding an amount before you play, and treating it as the cost of entertainment, keeps play types and coverage in proportion.
No budget, wheel or play type changes the outcome of a drawing.
